Cribstone Lobster
Fishing Heritage
A working lobster pound and waterfront business on Bailey Island, Maine.
Bailey Island’s fishing story reaches beyond lobster. The Bailey Island fishing tournament tradition dates back to 1938, when the first Bailey Island Tuna Tournament was held and the Bailey Island Tuna Club began. Today, the Casco Bay Tuna Club carries that legacy forward with a tournament culture built around seamanship, patience, local knowledge, and the shared stories that come from fishing these waters.
The tournament is widely described as one of the oldest and most storied fishing tournaments on the East Coast. Rather than overstating the claim, we think the more honest point is the stronger one: Bailey Island has been gathering fishermen around tuna, tides, and Casco Bay weather for generations. Cribstone Lobster is proud to be part of that same waterfront culture — one shaped by lobster boats, tuna stories, fuel, bait, docks, and the people who make a living from the sea.
